Ali's Photoshoot

My friend Amanda took some pictures of Ali at two weeks old...I'm just getting around to posting a few...but I think you'll agree they were worth the wait! :)

Some of what we've been up to...

We have been taking a morning walk and I'm not going to lie I really like having both girls strapped down and on wheels!! I wish I could do more things with them this way...it would be a lot easier :)
Ok this HIDEOUS sheet vinyl and I have been at odds since I first looked at this house. I vowed to not move in until it was torn out...then I vowed each time I mopped it that it would be the last time...well, it's been almost two years and it is FINALLY OUT OF HERE!! I took great pleasure in helping with the tear out. It is now in a million pieces at the dump!

SUCKA!

Nyah and Ali watching Saturday morning cartoons in mismatched PJ's. This is what life is all about. :)

So she's a baby and this is about all she does :) But I love her with ALL my heart! So SWEET!

Another one of Nyah's get-ups...after flying through the yard as a butterfly she continued her creative juices flowing with sidewalk chalk on the back patio.

Ali's Blessing

The night before Ali's blessing we had a dinner to celebrate. It was smashing! :)

Here is some of my fantastic family who came up for the occasion.

My sweet Ali...I can't believe how fast she's grown.

I think that Nyah enjoyed the party MORE than anyone. An entire dinner table of nothing but desserts, non-stop access to juice, all of her cousins and friends present, and more than anything almost zero parental supervision! :)

Really though isn't Ali gorgeous!

My sister took these pictures of Nyah and her friend Jayci chowing some cookies..

Yes...that is cookie in her eyelash

Family pic. I still can't believe I'm the mother of TWO and we are a family of FOUR!

Derek did an amazing job on Ali's blessing...here are all the men that were in her circle.

Ali with my wonderful Grandma Kress.

Connie my mother in law made this most exquisite blessing dress for Nyah... and I couldn't live with Ali having second best so she wore it too. :)

After the blessing we went back to our house for a light lunch... Nyah turned on Alice and Wonderland for her and her cousin Addie...I'm not sure which one is more disturbed? :)

Time Flies

The days seem to be going by so fast! Here we are at breakfast...Nyah is obsessed with cooking and while cooking she MUST wear an apron... even if it's making eggs and toast. To complete the look she is sporting her new favorite shoes barbie high heels with a puff ball toe. Ali is always right there checking out the action.

I can't believe how fast Ali is growing...it's sad...but at the same time SO exciting I can't wait for her personality to come out more.

Nyah got a swing set...she is obviously VERY excited about it since Derek hasn't even finished putting it together and she is already half way through her first slide.

Nyah LOVES Halloween and costumes!!! She BEGGED me to get out her "super" which is what she calls her costume from last year. That was a couple months ago and she has worn it just about everyday since. She even wears it to the neighbors. If anyone would have ever told me my daughter would roam the neighborhood in a wonder woman costume with straggly hair I never would have believed them! Ha!

I don't want to play favorites...but when it comes to sleeping Ali gets a blue ribbon!! She has slept through the night all on her own quite a few times!! She is such a sweetie!

We do a lot of reading together the other day I walked in Nyahs room and she had read herself to sleep. :)

ONE HOT DAY

On the only hot day we have had so far I set Nyah's pool up for her to take a dip. Heaven on earth! You know she is having a good time because her famous sippie cup is a good two feet away and she is still smiling!
Ali and I enjoyed the view from the cool house. I love having a springtime baby!

Swimming always takes it out of you here is Nyah having a post pool extravaganza nap!

HOUSE PROJECTS

We have been elbow deep in house projects since we moved into this house the latest was painting our cabinets. We spent weeks sanding them planning on staining...then changed our minds half way through and decided to paint. Here Derek is in the thick of it and very ill! They turned out awesome and we have almost forgotten how PAINFUL they were. HA. Next week hardwood floors...lookout! :0

HEALTH DAYS PARADE

The first of May we go to the Health Days parade every year. This year Nyah was super excited! She was with her cousins. She loved all the bands and princess floats!

Her cousins had her back and made sure she scored a ton of candy!

It was a cold day so Ali spent her first parade hiding under a blanket here she is taking her first little peak. Next year I'll make sure you get loaded up with some serious tootsie rolls
sweetie. :)

CHILD LABOR

Nyah has a few jobs around the house. She empties the silverware from the dishwasher after the dishes are clean by organizing the mommy spoons, daddy forks, baby spoons, and forks. Occasionally she will be asked to do some dusting, this day I worked her until she passed out! Ha! :)

GREEN THUMB

Derek and Nyah planted our garden the other day. It didn't yield much produce last year...

but here's to hoping...if nothing else Nyah sure had fun doing it! :)
Nyah got a book about a little girl who plants a garden with a jelly bean tree and has chocolate rabbits in it so that might me why she is EXTRA happy help.
We killed two birds with one stone this day since we were outside all day we started some SERIOUS potty training!

Ali kicked it in the shade of an umbrella all day... I think she was pretending to sleep so she wouldn't have to help plant the garden? Ha! :)

I BROKE MY FOOT!!!!!!! ONE WEEK AFTER HAVING A BABY!!!!!

I got a text message from my mom Sunday morning that said "Any trips to the ER? hee hee." I ended up in the ER a week after having Nyah so my mom thought she was being funny. I replied "not this time" pleased as punch and ready to break loose on this world after nine long months of pregnancy! However that night I sent this picture to my mom and said "spoke to soon. at the ER with a possible broken foot." Sure enough an x-ray confirmed my fear... it was BROKEN! I had missed a step in my in-laws dark garage and rolled my foot. I heard a pop and knew instantly that it was broken. For those of you getting a visual I did not hit the ground...I do want to point out that I caught myself but not in time obviously. Don't let the smile in the picture fool you I was terrified that they were going to have to set it back in place, or do surgery! I have NEVER broken a bone and am religious with my calcium supplements and so I felt very cheated! I am doing well though. Derek rented a killer scooter for me to speed around the house on in style! I should be back to business in no time! :)

AT HOME WITH BABY SISSER

Derek's favorite part about being a parent is nap time...nap time with Ali...

Nap time with Nyah... a Dad can't get too much quality time with his kids :)

Nyah has been waiting for this moment for a long time. She even practiced with her doll and the boppy before Ali was born. She looks like a pro!

Ali is obviously very interested in the story! Nyah started reading (memorized) books word for word to Ali right away. I didn't even know she knew her books that well!

We've had LOTS of sisser bonding time!

Proud as a peacock!! Does Ali look a little frightened? HA! :)

Ali had to be put on lights because of her jaundice! It was really sad! Here she is on her light bed. Every night looked like a disco party in our room with black lights. She didn't seem to mind...she slept really well on it. We are considering getting it back...not really! :)

Proud Mama! I love snuggle time!

My girls and I...what could be better than sugar and spice and everything nice?! :)
