Mothers Day at Grandma House

Playing dolls with Grandpa :)

Singing a little karaoke...she is such a little star...(this is the picture I'm going to use when she wins American Idol) HA! :)

We went shopping with Auntie Dee...and rode the carousal.
Nyah didn't love it so much...she got a little freaked by the scary looking animals.

Next to the park with Grandma and Auntie Andi.

Just some casual conversation with Grandma about nature.
Swinging is tops. :)

Fresh Out Of The Tub

I love when Nyah is fresh out of the tub! She is so shiny and smells like baby lotion. Yummm. She looks like such a baby in this picture and it was only a month or so ago!

Up-And-Coming Arteeeast

This is the first picture Nyah has ever taken. Officially. We were headed shopping...later that day I was up loading my pictures and found 15 of the roof of my car. :)

So independent

This is a video I took about a month ago...sorry still playing catch-up. Nyah has decided that she is much to old to be fed and now takes matters into her own hands at every meal.

Days Go By

Nyah's new pool! She loves it and insisted on getting in the other day at 7:00 at night when it was freezing!

Mowing the lawn with Dad...doesn't love it per say :)

So I was scrubbing the tub the other day and Nyah came in and tapped me on the shoulder and she was wearing my shirt! She went into my closet and pulled it off a hanger and put it on. I laughed way hard!!

Nyah is learning to feed herself, that is vegetable beef all over her face. Oh AND her new four teeth!!! It is not uncommon to head straight to the bath after meal time seeing as how more food makes it on her clothes, hair, and face then actually in her mouth.

BUBBLES! One of Nyah's first words and first loves. She can do them herself with this wand that makes ginormous bubbles. This day was also freezing but Nyah insisted that she make some bubbles. So Derek took her outside while I spied from the warmth of the house through the window.

Just a random pic. My sister Dee came up and went to baby animal days and we also made the most spectacular Easter treats. They were ART at it's finest. Fitting seeing how Dee is a high school art teacher.

Nyah and Raegan Hanging Out

Raegan came over to play a couple of weeks ago...Nyah loved it...she wants a sister soooo bad!

Nyah got the car on the left for Easter and Raegs insisted on trying her hand at it... :) Beautiful babies start your engines!

Baby Animal Days

Every year in Logan they have baby animal days where you can come pet...well, baby animals

Nyah held some baby goats and loved it... but I thought this picture was hilarious because it looks like she is being mowed down by a baby goat. I don't think she really was? However she has no fear and will run after the scariest looking animal.

Made friends with a baby duck then tried to choke it to death.

Wallowed with some pigs...at this point I was wondering if this was such a good idea. Literally wallowing with swines!!

So motherly, even to baby cows 8 times her size.

The bunnies were super cute until this one tried to scratch our eyes out...so we traded this nasty one in for a nice one. Nyah came away with battle scars.

Time for a Trim

We are combating baby mullet! I took Nyah in for her second hair cut...Cousin Tina did a GREAT job giving Nyah a stylish yet not too trendy bob. I need to post the final product but I haven't taken any pictures yet.

Not really sure what to call this one?

Nyah invited her friend Jayci to the Aggie game last week. They had a fabulous time...in the car...and at the game.

Nyah found my sunglasses the other day and came walking down the hall with them on. Ha!

Grandpa and Grandma's or BUST

We started our visit of with some serious cheering at Aunt Camille indoor soccer game. I think Nyah was the most rowdy in the crowd. She is used to cheering at Aggie games and applied the same enthusiasm for Camille. (isn't my mom a major babe?)

These are my mom's famous Valentine cookies. She has made them ever since I can remember. It isn't Valentines without them! They have to be heart-shaped, with pink frosting, and a single red cinnamon lip in the center. We ran out of lips this year hence the creativity on the back row. I didn't feel good about straying from tradition...but they needed something.

Nyah always has a blast being entertained 24/7 at Grandma's

Here she is with Great Grandma Moss having her usual... Easy Mac and Cheese

Grandpa let her break all the rules this weekend starting with eating Ice Cream with her very own spoon. Heaven on earth! Usually she goes from person to person around the table begging for treats like Helen Keller.

While videoing this my brother-in-law Dan made the comment that Nyah is not going to be the best part of our home videos... the weird and crazy stuff I say to her on video will be the most entertaining. I admit I'm a little over the top sometimes...but isn't that what kids love? Come on.
Nyah and Grandpa had some serious business to attend to. Nyah is conducting hers on the desktop while Grandpa is on the laptop.

Basic Instinct

Am I weird or is licking the beaters not a basic human instinct? I was making pink frosting for my mom's classic heart shaped valentine cookies...after I was done mixing it I held the beaters up for Nyah. She looked at me like "ya, so?" I actually had to demonstrate what came next. She does have the hang of it now...and my cookies turned out FAB as well.

Walkin in a winter wonderland

Nyah has been dying to play outside...so I bundled her up this cold day in 8 layers and let her make a run for it.
I seeeeeee... Olympic figure skater? Ok I'm sure Kristi Yamaguchi didn't perform a triple lux with her first experience on ice either. :) Nyah seriously loves to be outside! She also loves strangers and ran up to one on our walk yesterday and put her arms up to her.

Down and Out (except not out)

Nyah has been sick this weekend so we stayed home and tried to make the most of it... so Derek dressed her like Pocahontas and played hide and seek under a towel.
If laughter really is the best medicine we should be ready to roll by Monday?

Uncle B and Auntie Sher came up for a visit. Nyah had to unload Sher's purse and try on all the lip gloss, lotion and several items of clothing. I think silver is really her color!

Derek's Birthday/Superbowl Celebration

January 30th was Derek's birthday he is now 29 that's right! Only one more year until he is officially OLD! We celebrated in style with the usually breakfast birthday party complete with a gift-unwrapping-helper that doubled as the entertainment as well :)

We had dinner with our friends Matt and Shanae (which we got our very first babysitter for) that night and closed the evening with a classic birthday cake and song.
Sunday we had a superbowl party at our house. The game was great but the food and company were even better!

Go ahead and breathe, I know it's impressive...yes, I made these golf cupcakes myself for Derek's second birthday party. The picture is a little blurry because I may have permanently damaged our point and shoot camera...at least that's what Derek is "claiming" ;).

Here they are in all their glory the top is a whole in one! Derek has been dying to visit the green so these are the next best thing.
Our friends Rich and Sarah have a beautiful newborn baby Jane and Nyah thinks that she is her mother. She insisted on holding her all day especially when she would cry. I'm frightened that she is ready for a sister. YIKES!

Bi-Lingual Hopeful

Here is Derek teaching Nyah Spanish from her Spanish/English dictionary...ok, not really they are looking at the pictures. But how sweet. Nyah's Fabulous Grandma Poulsen made the tepee behind them where Nyah spends a lot of time playing with her toys.

Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures

The weather here has been UGLY and we had a life-threatening case of cabin fever so we went to the mall...after we were done shopping I let Nyah run into her fantasy world! AKA the giant nasty toys in the mall where every disease on earth lurks waiting for little unsuspecting hands. What can I say? We were desperate, and she had a ball!

Here she is sitting on Mom's fantasy Diet Coke!
Since I had already let her swim through bacteria on giant sweets... I let her drive this car in the arcade. She was fine with it until I turned it on and then she was not so sure?

Getting creative! Dad took Nyah on a magic carpet ride around the house last Saturday. She LOVED it!!!! Now she begs every day for a ride...accompanied by my songbird voice which will tantalize you below! :) I have burned some major calories thanks to this ride. If she falls off she runs and jumps head first onto the blanket like it’s a tube being pulled behind a boat! I have since had to hide the blanket in the closet.

WOW!

The holidays were crazy busy...now it's just back to Nyah and I and our regular schedule. We had a great time...thank you friends and family for EVERYTHING!

And Here We Have Idaho

Every Year my Mom, Sisters, and I get together for an over-nighter. This year everyone came to Logan. We went shopping, had dinner while watching the Utah Alabama game, ate chocolate, and laughed our guts out all night. In the morning we went over the river and through the woods to visit my Grandparents in Idaho. What a party!

Poppin Pins

We did a little Bowling over the break. I'm sorry to say that I think my bowling score gets worse every time I go. I mean well, I try hard, I'm very focused on the triangles on the lane, my left foot swings appropriately behind my right leg...but I didn't even break 100...and I got beat by a 2 year old! HA!

Here is Derek in action. He didn't do to shabby.

Look out Indy 500

Uncle Darrick took Nyah for a wild ride!
