Bear Lake

I told Nyah that we were going to Bear Lake for the weekend and that we needed to back her bag.  She took matters into her own hands and filled her suitcase with dollhouse furniture, toys, and a blanket in case it got cold.  I laughed way hard when I saw it.  She was SURE this was all she was going to need.

Derek and I feeling like we were young and fun again on the boat.

I was really worried about Ali because she is way to small for even the smallest life jacket so I secured two huge life jackets to her car seat.  She loved the ride.

Not a hug fan of people posting picture of themselves wakeboarding...but at this moment I was feeling like person so I thought it was worth documenting.  HA!

There is no such thing as too much cousin time in Nyah's world and there were plenty to play with.  Nyah also adopted a little dog name D Will (not the one pictured) she walked him, pet him, fed him...and I'm sure planned on taking him home.  Too bad her mother is not a fan of pets. ;)

Uncle Mick teaching Nyah to water ski

One day she'll be a champ

Ali of course spent the entire time under a blanket hiding from the sun.  She LOVES to be outsides so she had a great time too.

Waverunning with Dad

and mom
Playing in the sand and getting all sorts of dirty...what could be better!  What a great trip!

Best Friends

Nyah tells me Ali is her best and she talks about all the things she is going to teach her and do with her when she gets older.  I couldn't ask for a better big sister for Ali!  She has never said a negative thing about or to Ali since we brought her home.  She showers her with hugs and love and protection.  I am so amazed at her tenderness.

Good Times at Grandma's

Grandma Poulsen's
Nyah and her cousins like to play on Grandmas Bonsai slide...well

Nyah likes to play in Grandma's sandbox get covered in sand and then jump in the pool :)  She is one happy girl here.

Grandma Moss
Hanging out outside Grandma Moss'...Nyah loves to help her make cookies and watch movies with her.  Nyah has also discovered that Grandma Moss always has juice on hand to fill her sippie cup.  Very important information.

Grandma Moss loves holding Ali because she is always good for a smile.  What a SWEET baby!

Grandma Dahle
On this last trip to Grandma Dahle's Grandma took Nyah to feed some ducks.  The lake was really beautiful!  If it were up to Nyah all of these ducks would be obese.

So long speed bump... Hello hardwood

This is a picture of our speed bumps last few moments.  This speed bump gave the sheet vinyl a run for it's money on my hit list!  We took out a wall as soon as we moved in.  Since there was a gap in the carpet where the wall was, Derek filled it in with some carpet. It made a bump which I loving called a speed bump.  It was so embarrassing!  I wanted it OUT!  Almost two years later it's GONE.  Now we will have to come up with another way to keep Nyah from running in the house.  :)

You know those home projects that you start thinking "hmmmmm this shouldn't take very long."  Then hours or days later you want to poke your eye out because it's taken ten times longer than you thought?  This was not one of those projects...it was way worse... :) Hours, days, weeks...every time I would close my eyes I saw wood grain...I was dreaming in wood grain...we were zombies!  But now it's done and it looks great.  And just like having a baby, I'm thinking... "hmmmmm that wasn't really so bad maybe we should do another house project?"  :) HA!

4th of July Celebration

We did dinner with some friends and then watched the fireworks from our front lawn.  I love fireworks!

Ali was mesmerised at the sight of her very FIRST fireworks.

Nyah LOVES her cousins with all of her heart...this is the beginning of a dog pile.

The night ended in style with some sparklers.  Nyah was bursting.  I think sparkler pics are really beautiful...so I posted a lot.  Happy 4th of July!

Summer of Girls

I have had my hands FULL this summer with these two girls!  They make me so happy a little crazy :) but mostly happy! These are the days that you think are just days, but when looking back are some of your best memories.

Nyah and her friend Jayci have found Nirvana sipping GIANT sodas in the pool with the hot summer sun on their backs.

Ali is just waiting until next summer when she can wear sunscreen. :)

Ali's Photoshoot

My friend Amanda took some pictures of Ali at two weeks old...I'm just getting around to posting a few...but I think you'll agree they were worth the wait! :)

Some of what we've been up to...

We have been taking a morning walk and I'm not going to lie I really like having both girls strapped down and on wheels!! I wish I could do more things with them this way...it would be a lot easier :)
Ok this HIDEOUS sheet vinyl and I have been at odds since I first looked at this house. I vowed to not move in until it was torn out...then I vowed each time I mopped it that it would be the last time...well, it's been almost two years and it is FINALLY OUT OF HERE!! I took great pleasure in helping with the tear out. It is now in a million pieces at the dump!

SUCKA!

Nyah and Ali watching Saturday morning cartoons in mismatched PJ's. This is what life is all about. :)

So she's a baby and this is about all she does :) But I love her with ALL my heart! So SWEET!

Another one of Nyah's get-ups...after flying through the yard as a butterfly she continued her creative juices flowing with sidewalk chalk on the back patio.

Ali's Blessing

The night before Ali's blessing we had a dinner to celebrate. It was smashing! :)

Here is some of my fantastic family who came up for the occasion.

My sweet Ali...I can't believe how fast she's grown.

I think that Nyah enjoyed the party MORE than anyone. An entire dinner table of nothing but desserts, non-stop access to juice, all of her cousins and friends present, and more than anything almost zero parental supervision! :)

Really though isn't Ali gorgeous!

My sister took these pictures of Nyah and her friend Jayci chowing some cookies..

Yes...that is cookie in her eyelash

Family pic. I still can't believe I'm the mother of TWO and we are a family of FOUR!

Derek did an amazing job on Ali's blessing...here are all the men that were in her circle.

Ali with my wonderful Grandma Kress.

Connie my mother in law made this most exquisite blessing dress for Nyah... and I couldn't live with Ali having second best so she wore it too. :)

After the blessing we went back to our house for a light lunch... Nyah turned on Alice and Wonderland for her and her cousin Addie...I'm not sure which one is more disturbed? :)
