ALi TURNS 2!

We celebrated with a traditional breakfast in bed present birthday party first thing!

Ali is a born present lover! Wether the present belongs to her or not... presents beware... Ali will have you!

We proceeded to the next birthday tradition of the day... a doughnut and chocolate milk breakfast picnic with the giraffes at the zoo!

An Ali Easter party extravaganza at 1o'clock

We decorated Easter bags and then had an egg hunt to remember...

Ali was so excited on her big day... I love making her feel extra special... I have worried about second child syndrome since she was in utero... so taking it over the top for a birthday Diva is top of the list on April 2nd!

Playing with her new bubble machine...

All her Ali dreams came true sitting on a chair in the middle of the living room being hand delivered an endless supply of presents to unwrap!

YES!!!!! A cupcake!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! :(

Ali and Nyah love to sing Happy Birthday... because Birthdays are serious at the Poulsen's we practice year round so when there is actually a real birthday it's extra exciting!

VILLAGE GREEN EASTER EGG HUNT

Here my girls are with there good friends Tessa and Bailey

Ali's egg race... look at that concentration!

Nyah's egg race... I raced as well but I guess Derek was so ashamed that I didn't win that he didn't take a picture :)

EASTER SUNDAY

The girls raced down to catch the loot and found that the easter bunny had left eggs and candy all over the house!  Easter candy for breakfast for all!!!

IMAX

They have an imax theater at the zoo that we go to at least once a week even though they only change the movies once every 4-6 months :) and they are educational.  The girls love seeing sharks, elephants, and polar bears in 3-D but I think the popcorn and chilled Jr Mints are really what fills these two seats... actually I should say three seats ;)

MORE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM

It's a rare day that Derek gets to see the light of day so this Saturday we took him to the children's museum so he could see what we are up to during the week... here the girls are setting seashells in concrete (in a traveling construction exhibit upstairs.)

Beading necklaces...

making bird houses.

At the Great America History park feeding ducks.

AQUARIUM

They closed the aquarium all winter for renovations... and it was worth the wait!  It is so amazing!  We had to go opening day even though the line was a mile long!

To celebrate they brought in a band and Nyah and Ali got to try their hand at the instruments!

WILDLIFE SAFARI PARK

We got a season pass to the wildlife safari park... it's one of those places that you drive through to see the animals and they have spots to stop get out and get up close and personal with the animals... like brushing a goats hair or giving him a hug.

We did a little bit of hiking to (not) see some wolves through a telescope :)

We also had a first driving lesson!

It was such a warm great day we rolled the windows down with kids hanging out... turned up the radio... turned the wheel over to the 4-year-old... and just cruised it was super fun... I love hanging out with my two gorgeous girls!
