Today was sooooo HOT... Derek and I were getting the backyard ready to move and the girls needed to cool off and we had thrown the pool out because it had a hole in it...desperation is the master of invention. HA! They loved it!
Travesty
Andrea, Trev, and Camille came up to help paint and do some house projects...I let them prime over hours and hours of my blood sweat and tears! That is what family is for...right. Thanks guys!!

Nyah's Swim Lessons
Nyah did so well at her swimming lessons...she especially loved her teacher! She is not afraid to put her head under water now!
Our Walks
Everyday we go for walks...Sometimes to the gas station for a DC and suckers, other times to the library or a park. We always take time to stop and smell the roses...or in this case let a horse smell Nyah.
Bear Lake
Every year we go to Bear Lake for the annual Poulsen family reunion. This year was great as always! Nyah LOVE to spend time with her cousins!!!!
Kinley, Addie, Zander, and Raegan are so sweet with Ali...they make her feel like part of the group. :)
So our friends Jeff and Cheryl almost literally passed us on I80 moving to Cache Valley as we were moving out. We were so sad about the timing but got a couple of week to hang out before we moved. They bought Foxes Pizza in Logan and so we cooked up some delicious food in back and hit up 1st dam for a picnic.

Saying goodbye is sad. My Grandpa and Grandma Kress drove down from Idaho to take the girls and I to lunch and say goodbye. They are so sweet!!!
My mom and Trevor are total ROCKSTARS we really needed a lot of help moving they totally came through for us in a BIG way!! I really really appreciated it a lot!!!!
Mick and Callie lended a helping hand as well...we love you guys.
The "last supper" my friend Sarah and I have been going to lunch once a week for four years and this is the last of those lunches :'( They kept me sane...looking forward to our diet cokes and long chats.

Derek has worked for his Dad for 20 years saying goodbye was really hard for him.
This is a picture of me driving through Sardine Canyon for the last time...I put A LOT of miles on that road!!! I never thought when I drove through that canyon ten years ago... that I would get married, graduate, and have 2 kids before I would drive out again for good. Life definitely doesn't turn out like you plan. :)

Nebraska or Bust
Derek and I left the girls with my parents and hit the road to our new life in Nebraska. It's crazy how fast a drive can go without to kids in the backseat. HA! :)
We stayed at a dump motel halfway the kind that you don't want to take your shoes off in...when we woke up in the morning and saw the town we were in, in daylight we were a little frightened Nebraska made a scary first impression...
Derek and I tore out the bedroom carpet at 3 am because I told him I wasn't sleeping in a room with that carpet...the look on his face says it all :) Will be ever escape home improvement projects?
This is our high end dishwasher...it rolls over to the sink and then you hook it up to the faucet...I had to get a picture of Derek running it for the first time. I still don't know how the dang thing works! Ha lifestyles of the poor and infamous students. Ha. :)
Sunday we met my parents and our girls at the airport...I was so happy to see my babies!

Home Sweet Home.
Omaha Zoo
Omaha is home to the countries best zoo!! My siblings were sweet enough to get us a season pass. We go just about every day! We started off with a trip with my parents.
My Dad passed out after a long day of building shelves and Nyah passed out after a fun filled day with her Grandparents.
1st Day of School
I guess I should mention... Derek got into law school we are so proud of him. He worked so hard and got accepted all over the country in really fun places like...Boston, San Diego, Florida...and many others...so of course we had to choose Omaha Nebraska :) Ha! Really though now that we are here we can't imagine being anywhere else...we LOVE it! Derek did not want me taking 1st day of school pictures of him...so I hurried and snapped this one of him getting into the car. Minutes later the car won't start and we both will have heart attacks...and then it does. :) Derek is working SO hard and we don't see him much but appreciate the sacrifices he is making for our family.
Nyah is obsessed with giraffes and I told her before we moved that we were moving in next door to giraffes and she was so excited (we live 3 minutes away from the zoo.) this is Nyah's dream come true.
The girls and I on the Skyfary ride at the zoo...we flew over all kinds of animals and the girls loved it...Ali tried to leap to her death only 7 times...what fun. :)
Shoe Fetish
Nyah loves trying on my shoes...and obviously posing as well. :)
Beach
We found a really fantastic beach not to far from our house in Iowa. We went there several times a week before it got cold. The girls loved the sand and swimming in the water...and the flies and bugs loved biting me...I still have scars. :)
Nap Time
I tried to snap a sweet sleeping picture of Ali...the kind you plan for before you have kids and are adding things to your baby shower registry...this is reality. HA!
Polar Bear and Cub Club
Every Wednesday morning we go to polar bear and cub club at the zoo. There is a different these every month...Winnie the pooh, Dr. Suess, this month is Monsters for Halloween. Miss Leah pictured above with Nyah reads a story based on an animal at the zoo, then they make a craft for that animal and then go see it in the zoo and learn about it.
We were seeing a pig at the petting zoo for Winnie The Pooh. The girls had a lot of fun with the goats...it took a little while for Nyah to warm up. :)
Ali did everything but milk them and make cheese...she was in heaven.
Afterward we rode the carousel...Nyah of course chose the giraffe.
Downtown Slides
They have these really amazing slides downtown that we checked out one night...they are super fast...
even I was catching air.
We had so much fun on the slides that the girls and I went back the next morning...right next to the slides is a river with swans...Nyah got a little too close to them and got hissed at...she talked about it for days after...she was traumatized. We went to a fun bakery afterward and got a big cookie...that made her feel better.
