Bi-Lingual Hopeful

Here is Derek teaching Nyah Spanish from her Spanish/English dictionary...ok, not really they are looking at the pictures. But how sweet. Nyah's Fabulous Grandma Poulsen made the tepee behind them where Nyah spends a lot of time playing with her toys.

Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures

The weather here has been UGLY and we had a life-threatening case of cabin fever so we went to the mall...after we were done shopping I let Nyah run into her fantasy world! AKA the giant nasty toys in the mall where every disease on earth lurks waiting for little unsuspecting hands. What can I say? We were desperate, and she had a ball!

Here she is sitting on Mom's fantasy Diet Coke!
Since I had already let her swim through bacteria on giant sweets... I let her drive this car in the arcade. She was fine with it until I turned it on and then she was not so sure?

Getting creative! Dad took Nyah on a magic carpet ride around the house last Saturday. She LOVED it!!!! Now she begs every day for a ride...accompanied by my songbird voice which will tantalize you below! :) I have burned some major calories thanks to this ride. If she falls off she runs and jumps head first onto the blanket like it’s a tube being pulled behind a boat! I have since had to hide the blanket in the closet.

WOW!

The holidays were crazy busy...now it's just back to Nyah and I and our regular schedule. We had a great time...thank you friends and family for EVERYTHING!

And Here We Have Idaho

Every Year my Mom, Sisters, and I get together for an over-nighter. This year everyone came to Logan. We went shopping, had dinner while watching the Utah Alabama game, ate chocolate, and laughed our guts out all night. In the morning we went over the river and through the woods to visit my Grandparents in Idaho. What a party!

Poppin Pins

We did a little Bowling over the break. I'm sorry to say that I think my bowling score gets worse every time I go. I mean well, I try hard, I'm very focused on the triangles on the lane, my left foot swings appropriately behind my right leg...but I didn't even break 100...and I got beat by a 2 year old! HA!

Here is Derek in action. He didn't do to shabby.

Look out Indy 500

Uncle Darrick took Nyah for a wild ride!

My sister Kellie is Pregoooo

We had a baby shower for my sister Kellie while she was home for the holidays. It was Fabulous. I can't wait for Nyah to have a little cousin. It's a girl and they are going to name her Addison.

What a great looking group!

Nyah hid behind the couch during the shower with Uncle Darrick to get up close and personal with a four-legged friend. (A real big Woof-Woof!)

Lending a Hand

Five days after Christmas is my Dad's birthday and Nyah was more than pleased to assist in yet more unwrapping.

I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day!

I had the most satisfying Christmas. Nyah had these Baby Alive twins at her stocking from Santa and couldn't have been more pleased! Derek spoiled me as well!

Her maternal instincts kicked in immediately and she made sure her babies got breakfast before she attacked her other stack of presents.

She definitely got into the spirit of Christmas...She is now in the know about opening presents and the surprises inside. A huge mess of boxes and wrapping paper, brand new toys all over the floor...she was in HEAVEN. Merry Christmas.

Christmas Eve at the Dahle's

We started the evening off with some white elephant gifts. Derek and I brought the prize winner...a HIDEOUS wooden ceiling fan discarded during our remodel. However the tampon earings brought my Sheralee and Brian were definitely a fav.

Dan and Dee came in some classic Christmas sweaters purchased at the DI. They looked like they stepped out of the cover of a 70's record album. Here Nyah is having her first guitar lesson.

The highlight of the evening was after opening our Christmas jammies war-fare broke out with the wrapping paper. After taking a few to the head and dishing out some of my own...I got a major headache from laughing so hard that lasted until Christmas morning. Ha!

Christmas Eve at Poulsen Ranch

You are looking at the Dream Ginger Bread House Building Team right here. Harli, Addie and I created the masterpiece you see pictured below. :)
As you can see my degree in interior design is really paying off ;)

Second time is definitely not a charm when it comes to Santa Clause...maybe even worse. Ha. She was very tired so we'll give her that.

Now I on the other hand have no problem with snuggling down on Santa's lap and giving him a nice long list of well-deserved gifts. :) Overall it was a fabulous evening filled with lots of holiday cheer.

The First of Many Christmas Festivities

My sister Kellie and her husband Darrick came into town for the holidays...they have only seen Nyah a handful of times so first order of business is getting re-acquainted.

Being the only grandchild there are plenty of Cirque Du Soleil entertainers at her service. Darrick was so cute with Nyah the whole time he was here. He turned her into a rocket ship and she had blast off all over the house. She loved him :)

Which means we get a well deserved break :)

Santa has just burst through the door...this is Nyah's reaction. :)

She's still not quite sure...Just give me the present and step away bearded man.
