Celebrating 5!!!!! Years Together In Style

I can't believe it's been 5 years already. We celebrated with a weekend in Vegas. The first away from our little cupcake. Thanks to my mom taking time out of her busy schedule to watch her all weekend! Thanks mom! We had a lot of FUN!
We went to Phantom of the Opera which was Amazing...and the National Finals Rodeo. During phantom I decided I wanted to be a ballerina. Now that Nyah is walking our mom and me Ballet class is not too far off! Did a little shopping ;) and a lot of bonding. 5 Fabulous years and many more to come. :D I love and appreciate you Derek Jay!!!!!

Oh Christmas Tree...how lovely are thy branches

I have been waiting for some...lets say "less than motivated" electricians to get our lights in so I could put up my tree...
well the lights STILL are not in but the tree is up! :)

This is when the real work on the tree begins...which ornament is the first to come off?

Nyah has selected this one as her favorite! She bats at it like a cat and thinks it's hilarious!

Not sure why no sound? How about turn on the speakers...how hilarious... if all else fails read the directions...I should have it tattooed to my b-hind :)

Grandma Poulsens Funeral

Grandma Poulsen passed away last Monday. She was the sweetest lady ever, and it was painful to say goodbye...but she is with Grandpa now, and oh so happy I am sure of it :)

The weather was rainy and Nyah loved the umbrellas :)

I'm sorry I just had to post this one too.

Poulsen Turkey Day Gobble, Gobble, and what the heck one more GOBBLE!

K does this set up remind you of anything...? Really nothing? Come one... it's the feast where the Grinch carves the roast beast... The tables were set up exactly the same! Ha...I'm at the head of the table...but I did not carve the roast beast? Thanksgiving came close to being just another Sunday dinner but some Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins came in and saved the day...we had a FULL house!

Dahle's Earlybird Thanksgiving

My little sister Camille had a soccer tournament in St George so my family had Thanksgiving a day early. Lucky for me it was my year to be at Poulsens so I got Thanksgiving FEAST two days in a row!

Nyah got to spend some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa Dahle :)

Andrea and Josh Trimming the tree...and putting up lights Oh I love this time of year!

Nyah's First word is "WOOF WOOF" (maybe thats 2?)

It's true Nyah barks at any and all dogs...Live, stuffed, ones on the TV, Computer... So we were at the book table the other day... Sometimes I let her hold toys through the store and then put them back... Not this time! I gave her this dog and she WOULD NOT let it go. The clerk had to scan it while she had a death grip on it in her stroller. She takes him everywhere she goes. His name is woof, woof. She does say versions of mamamama and dadadadad...but one things for sure she loves woof, woofs!

Christmas Tree Auction

This is quickly becoming a tradition. Smithfield Chamber of Commerce has put on a Christmas Tree Auction Dinner the last two years which is a lot of fun. The dinner was a lot better this year...however nothing could beat Callie (my sister in law) accidentally bidding on and winning a tree last year...I laughed so hard I cried. The auction was still pretty hilarious this year. :) This is Callie's tree that she auctioned off...isn't it awesome!

BREAKING NEWS - Nyah has leg warmers.

Some days it just kills me that she is growing up soooooooo fast I was walking out of church today holding her in a tutu and leg warmers…the sun was shining and she was just laughing out loud for no reason…I wanted to put it in a bottle and save it forever…I LOVE being her mom!!!

TIIIIIIIMMMBERR...

The minute we walked through the door to check out this house with our realtor Derek and I said in unison "that wall has got to go!" So here it is... Going...

Going...

and GONE!

Nyah being o-so helpful :)

Green Thumbs Up

So I became one with Mother Earth last Saturday when I planted my very first flower! Well I should say flowerS because I planted a couple hundred tulips...hopefully most of them are planted right-side up. Ha! I surprised myself by actually enjoying it a little...maybe too much...I started making Bob Ross comments like...Yes, yes a little flower over here by a tree where a little squirrel might live :)

Back in the Game

Aggie basketball started another season the other night and we are so pleased!

Nyah went to her first game at 3 weeks old last year...i know abusive...but she didn't seem to mind at all. This year she loves the music, crowd and action of the game!

It only took a year...but we did it!

As soon as I found out I was due in October I planned on getting a mini costume for my baby and started making over the top Halloween plans...what I didn't know is I would be flat on my back for a month after she was born...needless to say I was disappointed at missing out on Halloween fun last year...so we made up for it this year!
We went trick or treating with Sarah and Jayci at the mall and down Main St.

Really though have you ever seen a cuter bumble bee...really?

I mean really? :)

The best part about being a mom is getting to relive your childhood through your kids! ;) Legit trick or treating...and here comes Santa Clause :)

extra videos at the request of my twin sis ;)

Operating Heavy Machinery

Now that Nyah is one we feel she is old enough to help out with some of our home improvement projects :) ...Here she is operating a skid steer for a cement pad we are going to poor. The home improvement list seems endless...but we are cracking away at it!

And the pumpkin carving survery contest winner is.....da da da daaah Jason Poulsen

Nyahs Birthday SPOOKTACULAR!!!!

Nyah turned ONE YEAR OLD on Saturday the 25th...and we celebrated in style with a splendid costume party! :) Yes Derek is the tooth fairy! His wearing billy-bob teeth and has a bucket full of change to put under your pillow.
I made this cake...it's not perfect but I am really quite proud because I don't bake...I lost sleep over this cake...and we when we stopped by the gateway to pick up some extra gifts on our way to the party it MEEEEELTED in the car...AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!! :0

Here is a video of some of the other creepy cuisine at our festive feast :)

I could never have posted enough pictures to do the costumes justice here is a splice of the awesome attire.

We had a pumpkin carving contest...everyone did a really great job but my sister is an art teacher and so no one else really stood much of a chance ;) But we had a great time carving to some monster mash tunes.

Everyone freaked that I was going to burn the house down with my pyrotechnic display on the cake...relax...it's just sparklers and Nyah only turns one once :)

Nyah is a sweets-o-haulic so i expected her to be wearing more frosting than the cake when I let her go for it...but no...she daintily tasted the frosting a few times...shared a little with me and that was it? The party was a blast...and MY BABY IS ONE :)

Carving

We got together earlier this week and carved our Denver Pumpkins. It was a lot of fun...and a lot of GOO! We can't show our end result because it will spoil the contest ;) Make sure to vote for your favorite on the right!

Sizing up the competition!
I'm not quite sure what/or who Dr. Evil here is planning on carving?

Nyah on the Go... go... go... go!

First time riding in her new seat...as soon as we buckled her in she laughed out loud and was so pleased:)

This is why I feel like a 90 year lady that has been hit by a train by 8 pm...keeping up with her is CRAZY! She is into everything! But we are having a lot of fun!! ;) I always find myself thinking when I can’t see Nyah and I’m trying to get something done “really though what’s the worst thing she could be doing right now?” “it can’t kill her whatever it is” “I don’t care I’ve got to get this done I’ll take care of whatever she’s done in a minute” and usually it is some dirty or dangerous that she is up to!! It’s so funny she is so curious (about all the things I don’t want her to be!) But we really are having a lot of FUN together. Little stinker!

Walking is on the horizon...she puts her babies in the stroller and pushes them around the house. She also puts them in her old infant car seat...what a wonderful mother.

Family Pictures At Last (ok like two months ago)

I have been having anxiety about not having a family picture with Nyah ever since she was born! So about a month and a half ago we had them done! My friend Amanda took them...and I think you'd agree she did a splendid job!

WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!

Here it is...our first home! I put our pumpkins that we got in Denver on the front porch so the new neighbors would know how festive and friendly we are ;). Ha! It already feels like home...despite an annoying wall that is coming down immediately :). The basement is an apartment that we are going to rent out. So if any of you are among the foreclosures we have a vacancy ;)

Well of course before you can move into a new place you have to move out of your old one :(!
That means boxes, cleaning, and heavy lifting!

Gratefully we had some help...my mom came up and worked her fingers to the bone to help out!

My sister Andrea came up and accomplished the imposable by distracting Nyah from unboxing as we boxed and put her to sleep...wow!

So thank you, thank you to Mont, Connie, Jason, Mick, Callie (for vital supplies: diet coke and chocolate ), Matt, Mom, and Andrea!

Denver or Bust

We spontaneously went to Denver with my in-laws (who are a blast to travel with) to help Jan and Andy with some major home improvements projects...and have a little fun on the side ;)

We (as in Derek, Andy, and Mont) tore out the ceiling, tore out cabinets, sheet rock...and yada yada yada...made a huge mess :) However when it's done it is going to look GREAT.

Part of the ceiling...they are walking past Jan, Connie, and I standing outside for hours holding the kids so we didn't inhale asbestos and develop cancer.

Let the fun begin...we went to a crazy impressive pumpkin patch that was 50+ acres of the most perfect pumpkins EVER. We got a little carried away and drove away with 26 huge pumpkins in the back of Monts King Ranch! HA!
Nyah of course LOVED it!

Here she is with her sweet cousin Carson, who she had a great time with...he even shared his toys :)

We found a great park and of course Nyah love, love, loved the swings. What a party can't wait to do it again. ;)
