We took the girls four-wheeling up in Utah's BEAUTIFUL mountains! Nyah loved wearing her helmet.
Ali did not!
Attempt #14 to get Ali to wear her helmet... Derek must have tried it on and thought it messed up his hair? :)
We went through this giant mud puddle and on the other side was a SWARM of biting horse flies! My four-wheeler totally stalled and I got snacked on! Ouch! On the way back I think I jumped the puddle full throttle! :)
As we were riding Nyah asked me why I like summer so much? She told me that it was too hot and she didn't like it... and wanted some snow!!
Ask and ye shall receive... we got to the top and Nyah got her wish SNOW in July!
The girls had a ball playing in the snow with tank tops and sandals!
Speaking of balls.. we had a snow ball fight and this one has Derek's name on it!
We set up the camera to take a family picture... I told Derek "Hey we should use this as the picture for our Christmas card this year." Derek didn't take the bate he knows me better than that! In his wildest dreams things would be that easy! Ha! :)

Nyah liked her helmet so much she insisted on wearing on the way home... safety first!
Wakeboarding
Wakeboarding is my favorite thing ever... I don't have any wicked sick tricks... but give me a super hot day... with a really cold drink... and some wakeboarding... and I am one happy girl!

The girls were at Grandma's with all of their cousins so derek and I were kicking it solo with our friends the Johnson's... could this day get any better! HA!

Water Party at Grandma P's
Nyah spent all summer hanging with her cousins... today was water day and she was in heaven!
Ali was in la la land on Aunt Erica's lap :)
A water fight broke out... and it was every man for himself...
or against herself if you are Nyah and just dumped the water on your head... However, from the smile on Derek's face something tells me she had some help with that. :)

Derek was the main target... I think he ticked off a few cousins :)
Out came the slip and slide... you run... you slide... you hit the ground and take a dive!
I think Nyah is in shock! It was a truly magical day for sure!
4th of July
We kicked the day off with a parade... the girls loved racing for candy and waving at princesses on floats!
Then it was off to the boat to cool off and relax... Ali is so relaxed she is driving with one toe! :)

To continue our independence day celebration we had a BBQ at Poulsen ranch with a few of our favorite people.

We took a golf cart tour... think we could get anymore kids on here? I think the tires are about to deflate.
Gave my friend Tara a driving lesson :)

and ended the day by celebrating our independence with sparklers and a fireworks show!

Ali Out
I walked in the kitchen to find Ali passed out... clearly she overdosed on cocoa chums by downing the whole bag!
Bear Lake with Firmages
We spent a weekend in Bear Lake with our friends the Firmages. They are good friends from Omaha that graduated and moved so it was fun to spend a quality weekend together!
This is Nyah and her good Friend Tessa.... Nyah and Tessa spent hours downstairs playing princesses together.

It just so happens Tessa has a little sister friend for Ali named Bailey. She is a bunny-loving sweetie pie...and her and Ali get along famously!
Flying higher than an eagle... at least in her mind. HA!
So when things get quiet in the cabin it's not just kids trying to get away with something :) I came out on the deck to this scene. I guess Ali somehow got a thousand burs tangled in her hair and Derek desperately tried to remove them before I could find out. Ha! He had taken care of the worst by the time I found them... but really how does this happen? Did the bush jump up and attack her? :)
Luckily no hair was cut in process.

Summer School
To most kids summer school is a 4-letter word... to Nyah it's a dream come true. As soon as I found out that we would be back in Logan for the summer I contacted her Child Development Lab Preschool and got her into the summer session by the skin of my teeth. It's such an incredible program and Nyah loves it with all of her heart.
Ali and I showed up for the last day swim party... Ali is starting things off with some bowling.
Nyah was reunited with bubbles the guinea pig... we were sad to learn of the passing of her other favorite guinea pig midnight.
She loves this sensory table. They are pulling metal out of sand with magnets.

We headed outside for some water fun.
Back inside for a lesson and a story Ali walked right up to the front like she owned the place and became the honored helper holding up farm animals for the story. She is SO ready for school.
Gymnastics
I put the girls in a few gymnastics lessons and they had a great time! Especially Ali she has sat on the side lines long enough and was ready to shine on the tumbling mat!

Poolside Fun
We hooked up with my friend Kelli and her kids at their pool to beat the heat.
Her kids are so sweet with my girls... David would blow water through the tube at jake...
Jake would fall in the water and Nyah and Ali thought it was the funniest thing they had ever seen... after doing it 900 times the boys probably had a headache... but the girls were thoroughly entertained!
